  • Who am I?

I set two WR's. I finished 4th in 2 Olympics in my specialty, but not only won a gold in another event I also finished 5th in another separate event. I have another country to thank for my one gold medal.

Martin Lauer seems to fit most of the clues, though I'm not sure about the two WRs.

I think you are correct... and as for the "other" WR memory serves that he set a wr in the 200 lows on the turn.

Martin Lauer anchored the German relay in Rome when the U.S. was disqualified. Lauer was fourth in the hurdles in Melbourne and again, in Rome. I think you are correct about his world marks.

Martin Lauer it is. WR in 110H, and 4x100R. 4th in 2 Olympics in 11oH, and 5th in Decathlon in 1956, in which he only ran 14.7 for the hurdles!!!

Might have mentioned Track & Field News's first athlete of the year in 1959
