  • World Champs trivia Q

Which 3 events currently contested in the outdoor world championships have never had a repeat winner ?
And which event has had ONLY repeat winners, i.e. everyone who's won a world title has won it at least twice ?

WC Event with only repeat winners...

    Men's 110mHH:
    1983 - Greg Foster (USA)
    1987 - Greg Foster (USA)
    1991 - Greg Foster (USA)
    1993 - Colin Jackson (GBR)
    1995 - Allen Johnson (USA)
    1997 - Allen Johnson (USA)
    1999 - Colin Jackson (GBR)
    2001 - Allen Johnson (USA)
    2003 - Allen Johnson (USA)

It's amazing that there has been such consistensy in this event on the world championship level, especially considiring what little room for error it allows.

Right answers to both parts of the question.

Try the other one now - it's not quite as easy to look up the answer to that one :-P

Who was the shortest world outdoor champion ever?

Was it Jearl Miles-Clark? (She was just short of her 37th birthday when she won the 4x4 last year).

That's pretty old, but not the oldest ever...

Scrap that one... Irina Yatchenko was even older (almost 38) in Paris.....

Yatchenko is the right answer. Szabo is not.

You mean we have to exclude those who became indoor world outdoor champions?

All kidding aside, the next trivia challenge is to name those who became indoor NCAA outdoor champions. I can think of two off the top of my head, and I suspect there may be more.
