  • Trivia Question

Without looking at the rankings sheets can you list the Men's Olympic T&F event in which no American male has been world ranked since 1973?

Ok then how about since 1994?

(5k Guy making a rare apperance for trivia purposes only - besides he is really bored at work today)

I'll guess the Javelin for the 1994 onward answer.

      Re: Trivia Question

Nope not the Javelin: Breaux Greer was ranked in 2001, before that it was Tom Pukstys in 1997.

        Re: Trivia Question

well then foe either of the answers you are looking for it has to be running events... so how about the Steeple for the 1994 ? And can it possibly be the 10k for the 1973 ?!

          Re: Trivia Question

The Steeple answer is correct for 1994.

          But the 10k is incorrect.

Still looking for the 1973 answer.

walk aficionados please forgive me, but in mulling through all the "men's T&F events" I did not even think of the walks. Sorry... particularly because I'm a big Clausen fan.

                    Re: Trivia Question

The 20k Walk is the correct answer. It is by far the longest the US Men have gone without being ranked in the top 10 in the world.

The last Top 10 ranking of a US man in the 20k walk is Ron Laird in 1973 (ranked 4th).
