in a French bistrot, at Saint-Denis, France, in
October 1959.
He was a marathon runner.

Yes, Rob, that was him.
Almost forgotten and quite miserable, the 1928
marathon Olympic Champion saidsomething like:
" I don't want to inspire pity by being broke
and badly dressed. This would ruin my golden
Olympic pedigree..."
He was sixty years-old then.
