Dirt tracks vs. synthetic tracks

Speaking of sub 4:00 miles, how many of them were done on cinders? Ryun's two WR were both on dirt.

Also, is there a list for cinder track WRs? One last dirt track question? What was the last major meet on cinders? I think it was the 1970 AAU meet at Bakersfield. Anybody know anything more recent

I belive the only list relative to that that T&FN ever carried was in the October '69 issue, where a list of synthetic-track WRs was published.

As to last major meet on non-synthetic, '70 AAU is looking like the right answer (depending on how you define "major" of course) for overall title.
