Herb Elliot was IMHO greatest Aussie in ANY sport. WHO would U pick for top 3 to 5 best male track athletes from down under?

    1. Elliot
    2. Ron Clarke

I was going to post mine, but Per's are 99 % the same so I will just agree with him. Of course if you throw in the ladies Cathy Freeman would at a minimum be 4th on the Aussie list.

I doubt the Australians feel that way. #1 there is Don Bradman.

Sir Donald Bradman was the only Aussie cricket cat ever knighted. He died in 2001 at age 93 and on his deathbed asked Satch " could you get me A RC COLA and a MOONPIE?" Was a bad dude batsman and much loved, I'll take Herb.

Bradman played for Australia from 1928 until 1948. He was, and is, Babe Ruth, Joe Dimaggio and Hank Aaron wrapped into one. For example, his Test batting average was 99.94 while second on the alltime list is 60. By the way, Bradman just died 3 years ago.
