      Then ya add hurdlers Willie Davenport and Rod Milburn from So.U along with 400 ace Fred Newhouse from PV and that's a lot of talent.I agree that most those guys if not all of them would have been at SEC schools.I'm thinking Auburn's Cliff Outlin was the first black sprinter from the SEC.......mmmm?

        Kentucky had a pretty good guy much earlier (early 70's). Can anyone remember his name?

            Jim Green of Kentucky (have no idea if he's the first) predates Outlin by a half decade or so.

              I'd forgot that Kentucky was in the SEC...DUH!

              After a little research I'm thinking that maybe Marcus Rodent was the first black SEC trackster. He ran for MSU in the mid 60's. I'm just guessing he's black by that name.

              By the way....I'm a speed freak and have nothing but the utmost respect for the great black athletes.I just thought that needed to be said.
