WHO were the ACCs 3 best high jumpers? Consider entire career, places in major meets, not just PR & stats.

    Re: hj trivia

I'll leave it to "The Fern" to more intelligently answer, but I will quickly nominate Frank Costello, ACC's first 7 footer, NCAA champ as a soph, plus he sure cleaned my clock by a half a foot every time I jumped against him in 1965. Good thing he was ineligible except for frosh meets the year before !
And on the distaff side it's easy... Tisha Waller.

ok, I'll add Ed Bishop from UNC, ACC's only other NCAA champ, and only other HJ'er to make all ACC 50 year team other than Costello. Jumped 7'6" to win NCAA in 1996. ACC website failed to provide all time listings of champs, performances so w/o more digging I bow to others, other than to mention:

Ancient history's Tom Clark of UNC won ACC 3 straight years from 1962-1964, PR 6' 9 1/2", suffered rare conference loss in Duke dual in 1964 to..... ?????

                            Re: hj trivia

Ok, in my own defense I won five ACC titles (Two indoors and three outdoors) and the three I lost I was second on misses. I only ever jumped 7' once in an ACC meet and that was my senior year at Duke. Those other guys had much higher PR's and did much beter at NCAA's. My best was 8th indoors as a frosh. So I put the other guys ahead of me for overall results and height, but I don't know if any of them won more than five titles. With those heights they should have.

Fern, because Clark could lose to a rummy like me, you're clear cut third in my book !
