I think I'm out of my depth here, but I seem to remember Hieke Drecshler (sp?) being married to an American (?) elite. Maybe I'm crazy.

Wrong answer. Drechsler's husband was an East German soccer goalkeeper. She divorced and didn't get married again (I remember Alain Blondel was her boyfriend, though).
