Happy 52nd birthday today (Tuesday) to an Olympic champion who also owns an Olympic bronze medal.

This birthday athlete also won three World Championship gold medals.

The son of our champion is also pretty good at track and field.

Watching the BCS championship football game last night from Miami might give you a hint as to who this Olympic gold medalist is.

Our birthday person shares the same initials as another track and field Olympic champion. In fact, this other Olympic champion won the Olympic gold medal at the same Olympics where our birthday athlete took the bronze medal. Both people ran the same event in getting their bronze and gold medals. The only difference is that the gold medalist had to do nine other events before earning the gold medal.

I'm sure you can figure this out without too much trouble. Name this Olympic champion who won Olympic gold at the age of 22.

      Re: Bolton

Calvin Smith it is, bambam. Nice job. Calvin Smith turns 52 years old today and remains as one of my favorite sprinters. I was lucky enough to see him win in Helsinki (1983) and Rome (1987) at 200 meters. Of course his Olympic gold medal is from the relay in Los Angeles and he has Olympic bronze from Seoul's 100 meters. Happy birthday Calvin Smith.

I don't get it. If Calvin is 52 and won Olympic gold at age 22, it would have been 1983, but there was no Olympics that year, nor in the first few days of 1984,.
