  • More mile trivia

While digging around to find the answers to recent mile trivia questions, I've come up with a couple more:

Although one of the three men chasing the first sub-4, Wes Santee never actually broke 4 mins. Who was the first American to do so?

Jim Ryun's 3:59 at 17 was the first sub-4 by a junior, but not the first by a teenager - which 19-yr old was first?

Herb Elliott ran a 3:59.9 on Jan 25, 1958, one month before he turned 20.

Yes and yes. Clearly easier than I thought they were. OK, back to the sprints for me!
