  • Bobby Evans?

This isn't about trivia, it's about me not knowing. Was Bobby Evans a member of those Jimmy Hines 4x1 teams back in the day at Texas Southern? Didn't he run the second leg? Where I got that idea..????

    Help!

My T&FN collection starts in 69.

In 1966 Texas Southern had a team of Hicks, Bristol, Duncan, and Hines. Not sure about 1967.

      Thanks, appreciate that

I"m familiar with Roy Hicks, Arnaldo Bristol and Clyde Duncan. Where I got Bobby Evans from....????? I have no problem with their arch rival Southern U with Harvey Nairn, Webster Johnson, Grundy Harris and George Anderson (best of times for the SWAC).

This Bobby Evans thing has bugged me for years.

Probably not the same guy who opened a chain of self-named restaurants in Ohio ?

          Probably not

I'm pretty solid on my HBCU sprinters/relayers. But when it comes to Bobby Evans it's...????? I have no idea where I got that name. Weird~~~~~~~~

            Well I'll be damn

            paste

            The Des Moines Register › 30 April 1966 › Page 21 - Newspapers.com
            http://www.newspapers.com/newspage/7500977/?
Hampered by an opening 1:55 half-miie by Arnold Droke, which cost 12 yards, ... PRELIMINARIES 120-yard High hurdles - (first section) -V. Arnaldo Bristol, .... Texas Southern (Clyde Duncan, Roy Hicks, Bobby Evans, James Hines), 1:22.9; 3.

            paste

Even if the police records are changed, however, the trackmen's memories of the arrests will be ineradicable. Bobby Evans, a 20-year-old sophomore from Dallas, was awakened that night with a pistol pointed at his forehead. He was rushed through the halls and outside to the front of the student union, where hundreds of kids in pajamas or shorts were being forced to lie in a low-walled concrete patio the students call the pit. Near him he found teammate Arnaldo Bristol. Hines and Smith were absent, because they are married and live in another part of the campus.

            Huh???

So there was a Bobby Evans, still don't know where I first saw that.

Very interesting, but what's the source and date for this paste?

I didn't think Google could help me with Bobby Evans. So I tried,...

Arnaldo Bristol, Bobby Evans, Clyde Duncan, Jimmy Hines and ...bingo~~~~~~~~~~~

I don't care about source/date when I see a paste job, I just assumed nobody else did either.

There are some non fantasy 4x1 teams you just remember. That Earl McCullouch, Fred Kuller, O.J.Simpson, Lennox Miller a good example. Texas Southern was that above mentioned team for me, but I could never figure out how I knew that, yep, weird. Who was Bobby Evans?
