Can you name two brothers who ranked in the top ten on the all time world list in the same event at the same time ? I have an example in mind but I'm sure there are others.

Yes - Vasiliy's 5.85 in 1985 ranked him #6, with Sergey at #1. However, I had a different pair in mind.

Possibly, but I guess I meant Olympic events. My brother and I ranked #1 and #2 in the 43-yard egg-and-spoon race in 1969.

No - I got it - Daniel & Timothy Ahearne (TJ). (Of whom you're a descendent, I presume). Dan Ahearn(US) was wr holder, Tim Ahearne(GB) was Olympic champ, but they were brothers. They might have been 1-2 on world list in 1908-1912 or so. Dan did 51'7 with hop-hop-jump technique in 1910.

                          Right - 8th (2:09.06 in 1978) and 6th when Takeshi ran his 2:08.55 in 1983.
