bam, you're not allowed to play!

Which set of brothers won Olympic gold and silver in the same year, in the same event?

(and yes, this is a track-specific question, not some other sport)

    Re: brothers trivia

Harry HILLMAN who won the 1904 Olympic 200m/h (24"6) said one day that Frank CASTLEMAN
who finished second in 24"9 was like a brother to him !
I was there of course...

gh - I'm guessing that one of them has the same name as my older son - so I'm DQing myself from this one.

Must be one of the weird events they had 100 years ago, standing long jump, shot put with both hands, because i don't remember reading the same name for any of the current events. Or this is the first sign i'm starting to forget things...

The mark of Platt Adams for his 1912 Gold was 1.63/5-4.25, only he cleared the bar without knocking it off, which is clearly a performance superior to putting your full body weight on a landing spot of the same height.

Ray Ewry's best of 1.675/5-6 is even more amazing.

Certainly not trying to hijack, but this event has me intrigued. What do y'all make of this:

Is it? So landing on a spot 8 ft above the ground off a runup would be easier than what Sotomayor did?

The difference is one guy is jumping off one foot, and the other off two.
