  • The mighty SEC and the 200m

They could run 4 rounds with 36 quality sprinters, but it would come down to this final.

lane (all at sub 20.00 and won't even use Tex A&M)

    1.Wallace Spearmon Arkansas
    2.Xavier Carter LSU
    3.John Capel Florida
    4.Tyson Gay Arkansas
    5.Isaih Young Mississippi
    6.Lorenzo Daneil MSU
    7.Justin Gatlin Tenn
    8.Coby Miller Auburn
    9.Calvin Smith Alabama

That's amazing, there are no countries that compare to that.

I'm also a big Calvin Smith fan, people forget he was also a stud third leg on a 4x1. Spearmon's dad was a 20.1ish 200m guy.

Yep, but Heard was there before the Aggies were in the SEC. They also had Curtis Mitchell.

Dixon - are you sure that there are no countries that compare with the SEC? or had you forgotten Jamaica (8 at 19.98, 7 at 19.80, 6 at 19.86, 2 faster than any SEC athlete)

I was looking more at times with this, so I went with the faster times.(yes I know but didn't wanna play era with this) The SEC having so many "fast" 200m sprinters. But....as we can see not even the SEC compares to the Pac10 when it comes to Olympic success.

There are more sub20.00 200m sprinters out of the SEC (both can use Mullings). All those I mentioned above then ya add...

                        Rodney Martin So. Carolina
                        Dedric Dukes Florida
                        Steve Mullings MSU

Think about this, an NCAA conference in a speed debate with Jamaica, whoa~~~~

FWIW, Paddock was a Texas product by birth. Mack Robinson (older brother of Jackie) was born in Geogia.
