Happy birthday today to an Olympic champion who won gold and silver at the same Games. This athlete was born 75 years ago today (Thursday). Our birthday person was 25 years old when winning these Olympic medals.

Born in Glen Cove, New York (place where Roger Thornhill is arrested in "North By Northwest"), this champion lived in Cleveland, Ohio for many years.

Drayton, if he was part of the gold relay, because i know he won silver over 200m. That would make it one gold, one silver. Don't know if any of the other stuff fits though. Or Tyus, who also won one gold one silver. Hm, while writing i'm thinking of more names, but none are american, so let's go with these two.

I'm giving it to norunner and to dukehjsteve. It is Paul Drayton who was born 75 years ago yesterday, but norunner also included Wyomia Tyus (which was not correct) and dukehjsteve picked Drayton. So, a tie.
