In the pre-pentathlon era there were several women who probably could have posted great scores:
Babe Didrickson Zaharias won gold in the 80m hurdles and the javelin at the 1932 Olympics, plus silver in the high jump (she also set a world record in the HJ at some point!) Plus she became the greatest female golfer of the 1940's!
Micheline Ostermeyer won gold in SP and DT at the 1948 Olympics, plus bronze in the HJ. She was also a EC bronze medallist in the 80m hurdles, so she had speed too. Plus she became an acclaimed concert pianist!
Would anyone care to project a heptathlon score for these two women?
