Lowest Combined 100 & 200 meter times?

Does anybody have a lower total, 29.54 second, than Frank Fredericks with a 9.86 and 19.68 time.
Can't find a time for Michael Johnson in the 100 meters but he would only have had to run 10.21 in the 100 meters to go along with his 19.32 to top Fredericks.

Mike Marsh was not slouch with a combined 29.66 with his 9.93 and 19.73 times

I think MJ has it. Without looking it up, seem to recall his 100m pr of 10.17

Considering MJ opened his 19.32 with a 10.12 from lane 3, his 100 PR could have been around 9.92.

If we include windy times, Leroy Burrell has 9.85/19.61w (total: 29.46).

Definitely. Especially as he ran the first 100m of that race quicker than Frankie and Ato did (when they were close to their best 100m form)...!! MJ definitely had sub-10 ability.

you answered your own question... even if you assumed MJ never ran a 100, that 10.21 + 19.32 is 29.53, lower than fredricks total.

but as is mentioned he clocked a 10.09 making him the clear winner at 29.41

ato's 19.77+9.86 = 29.59 not too shabby, and neither is mo's 19.86+9.79 = 29.65

Given that Allen Johnson has a 200 PR of 20.26 and he ran on the US 4x400 team at the 97 WC (and has definitely split 44.something), I think he would be a strong candidate. Can't find a 100 or individual 400 PR for him, though.
