Another doctor (surgeon specialising in gynaecology) was the Australian Richard Honner. He set an Australian LJ record (7.24m) which stood for many years before competing in the 1924 Paris Olympics (where he did not do well).
He then continued medical studies in the UK, twice winning the AAA LJ Championships (7.43 & 7.45), beating the UK record on both occasions .
