If we get desperate to fill a few events we can probably use the whole Iraq national team. Uday used to imprison and torture underperforming sportsmen, especially footballers (sorry, soccer players to you guys...you know why we call it football? Because you use your bloody feet!)

Devil's advocate question: how do you know it was unjust? Just because every running rag in the world jumped on the story with plots that ran along the line of "he's a runner, therefore he must be innocent"? As I recall, when the "new" government finally came in his sentence was commuted but he was never declared innocent.

Bob Hayes served 18 months, I believe. He was a decent sprinter, too.

Mamo Wolde did time in Ethiopia--unjustly--because he ended up on the wrong side in civil strife.

Add Henry Thomas, according to another thread a couple of days ago.

Sure he does, he spent a year in the slammer without bail. Good enough to qualify.

OJ was found not guilty, so he doesn't qualify.

    110H Chris Nelloms
HJ Igor Paklin (according to another thread earlier this week)

Does Carl count following his DUI a few weeks ago? He was locked up for a few hours.

One of the best high school 400m hurdlers of his era (late '70s as I recall) was a kid from Baltimore named Adrian Ward. Shortly after high school he became a ward of the state.

    All-time prison team?

Who do we have on a team of the best T&F athletes who have spent time in the slammer? Either before, during or after their T&F career counts. US/World Men/Women?
