  • Missing sprint results '70s

Please can anyone help me finding the following women's 100m results:

1976.06.0? in FRG, 1. Helten 2. Richter, I only have a picture of the finish of the race, I'm not sure who wins, and would need time + wind

    1976.09.13 Berlin West 100m 1. Richter (time) 2. Haglund (time) 3. ???

    1976.09.17 London 100m 1. Richter (time) 2. Szewinska (time), 3. ??? 4. Helten (time)

1979 Full results for this race (+ date and place) www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GRcyQZ2p9I

    Cheers, PJ

The 1979 race MAY have been at Halle-Neustadt. Just a guess.

On June 13, 1976, Helten beat Richter at Furth, 11.31 to 11.34. This was the meet where Helten set the WR in the heats. Could this be the one you're looking for?

I found the results for the YouTube clip of Sonia Lannaman running 11.55, apparently in Germany...

It was a 4-way international between FRG, UK, Poland and Switzerland in Bremen on 23 & 24 June 1979. The women's 100 was on 23rd, into a wind of 1.3 m/s...

            1. Sonia Lannaman - 11.55
            2. Wendy Clarke - 11.60
            3. A. Richter - 11.65
            4. I. Szewinska - 11.67
            5. Z. Bielczyk - 11.68
            6. B. Wehrli - 11.75

I didn't find anything for Richter beating Haglund in Berlin on 13 Sep 1976.

However, I note that Richter and Haglund were first and second at the ISTAF meet in Berlin in 1976 (11.24 to 11.64), but this was on 20 Aug. Maybe just a coincidence ?

Yes Ianb that's correct that's ISTAF Berlin, the date I gave was wrong. And thanks for the Bremen results.

gm, I don't know if that's this meet. It is the cover of Leichtathletik n.23, 9 Juni 1976, so i guess it was before that date? Picture: https://ibb.co/ga8kbx
