    My memory says I saw Tabori win the 3 mile at the Nationals at Randall's Island NYC in 1961.

    Laszlo Tabori was a very good man. He was living in the San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles County), but I'm not sure that's where he died. His 3:59.0 mile in London was the fastest mile run in 1959. I remember when he had a running store in Los Angeles County. Tabori was in the mile at the Los Angeles Sports Arena in February of 1962 when Jim Beatty became the first to run the mile under four minutes indoors.

    remember seeing him on a number of occasions at the 2 LA indoor meets in the 60's. would have turned 87 on July 6.
