Happy birthday today (Sunday) to an Olympic champion who was born on a Wednesday 115 years ago today, won the Olympic gold medal at age 20 on a Tuesday, and died on a Wednesday at the age of 72.

This champion competed in two Olympic Games, winning the gold medal in the first of those two Games.

If you go to the "Current Events" section of this forum and look under the title "Where they're going", you can read post number two, which has something to do with our title for this post.

Don't worry about the hurdles for this athlete's Olympic gold medal.

Our birthday person did not compete in any of the weight events at the Olympic Games.

Who is this Olympic champion for this final Sunday of November?

Here I am awake at 5:00am in Beijing with, once again, the chance to finally get in first with the correct answer.

No such luck, bowling = javelin? Must be one of the legions of Finn javelin throwers? But that sort of clue would make it too easy for the likes of Bambam.

Oh damn, give in to my weak side and cheat. Now all I want to know is how the heck the clue relates.

Read the wiki article on him and you'll see how the clue relates.

No Finn javelin thrower, because Jonni Myyrä won in both 1920 and 1924. Moreover, I wonder whether javelin is included in the "weight events."

I consider the shot put, discus, hammer throw, and javelin to be included in "weight events". The connection with the title "Bowling" just means this athlete was an avid bowler as well as an Olympic champion.

I can tell you that this bowler (and Olympic champion) competed in the Olympics in one of the jumping events.
