My favorite Native American football player was the great OU fullback Leon Crosswhite 1971. Second place goes to Wahoo McDaniel! Third place, Jim Plunkett. 4th place some tiny little scat back for the San Diego chargers, I forget his name.

edit: I found him, Dickie Post.

The consensus seems to be plausible but agnostic.

As a kid, I read about an Egyptian named Fattah who was employed at a quarry. During lunch break, he laid down on a stopped conveyor belt and fell asleep. He woke up to alarmed cries of his co-workers -- Fattah was about to be swept to his death as the conveyor belt had started moving. Fattah got up and ran in the opposite direction, barely managing to stay in place. After four minutes of this, someone finally turned off the belt. Later, it was calculated that Fattah had run about 1700 meters in four minutes.
Has anyone else ever heard this story?
