Happy birthday to Calvin Smith (58). Nice job, thedoorknobbroke. Of course you know that Calvin earned his Olympic gold medal in Los Angeles (1984) when he gave the baton (four by 100) to Carl Lewis and got a world record. Smith took the Olympic bronze medal in the Seoul (1988) 100.

Very good guess, Master403, but not right. Al Joyer is almost exactly one year older than our birthday athlete. Here's another hint: Think of last night's NCAA championship football game.

It's not Said Aouita. He couldn't drive 2,414 miles from his birthplace to the Olympics, but Aouita did compete in the same Olympics as our birthday athlete.

    "Big Al"

Happy 58th birthday today (Tuesday) to an Olympic champion who competed in two Olympic Games and won an Olympic gold and a bronze medal.

If you wanted to drive from our birthday athlete's birthplace to the city where this person won Olympic gold, you would travel approximately 2,414 miles (3,884 km).

This athlete also won three World Championship gold medals and one World Championship silver medal and nothing in the hurdles.

Our birthday athlete shares the same initials as the actor who played "Peter Gun" on television in the 1950's.

Any idea who this might be?

Give it a go and name our birthday athlete for this second Tuesday of 2019.
