Happy birthday today (Thursday) to two Olympic champions with a total age of 94 years and a total of five Olympic Games.

Neither athlete competed in any of the Olympic hurdles and neither person won an Olympic medal at the same Olympics.

Approximately 2,890 miles or 4,651 km separate their birth sites in different continents.

These two athletes own a total of three Olympic gold medals and one Olympic bronze medal.

Did I mention that both people were born on a Tuesday during an Olympic year?

One of these two athletes competed in four Olympic Games and also won gold and silver medals at the World Championships.

You probably already know that our birthday athletes were not born in Australia, Asia, or South America.

Balázs Kiss and Derartu Tulu

Happy birthday today to Derartu Tulu and Balazs Kiss both of whom are 47 today. Very well done, LopenUupunut. Tulu, of course, ran the 10,000 in four consecutive Olympic finals. She won two Olympic gold medals (1992 & 2000) and one bronze medal (2004). She was fourth place Atlanta (1996).

Balazs Kiss won the 1996 Olympic hammer throw, however Lance Deal came pretty close to beating Kiss on Deal's final throw.
