Happy birthday today to Gail Devers (53). Luigi Beccali was born 112 years ago today. Nice work, tandfman. Devers won three Olympic gold medals at five Olympic Games (1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, and 2004). She never won a medal in the 100 hurdles which was one of her best events, if not her best event. Beccali ran the 1,500 in three Olympics (1928, 1932, and 1936). Of course he won gold in Los Angeles (1932) and bronze in Berlin (1936). You're right, tandfman, Beccali did live in the United States later in his life.

Golden Double = GD = Gail Devers
Lone Bronze = LB = Luigi Beccali

Other clues -- no mention of hurdles. And I do recall that Beccali lived in the US at some point in his life.

    Golden Double, Lone Bronze

Happy birthday today (Tuesday) to two Olympic champions with a total of four Olympic gold medals and one Olympic bronze medal from a total of eight Olympic Games.

These two athletes were born approximately 5,365 miles (8,634 km) from each other.

Both athletes lived in the same country at one time.

The younger of the two was born on the 59th birthday of the older athlete and this younger athlete competed in four different continents at the Olympics.

Our younger champion was 23 when the older individual died at the age of 82.

This younger person celebrates 53 years today.

You might already know that the site where our younger athlete was born and the Olympic stadium where the older athlete won Olympic gold are both in the same time zone.

I'll bet you know these two champions, so go ahead an name them.
