If they were both prepared for thtat race, this may have happened. Unfortunately, MJ didnt seem to have any intention on completing the 200 meter dash at the 2000 US Olympic Trials, and I dont believe Green did neither.

they did not look like they were faking their injuries to me... and I have never heard anything about that even being suspected.

Ever since Atlanta Johnson couldn no longer handle the power of the 200 on his hamstrings. He fell like he was shot against Bailey in 97' and did the same thing 2000. At first I thought he was pulling an acting job in 97' but after he pulled up against Bailey he didn't race for 2 months after that.........

It was a shame to see Johnson hurt in 97' and 2000. Johnson would have dusted Bailey in any other circumstance. Johnson also was a very powerful Sprinter at one time. When he won his 200's he usually always led off the curve. Yes, he was a more dominant 400 sprinter, but he defined himself by running the 200. He made it a recognizable event again. Now in the 2000 final I think Johnson would have finished 1st. Capel would have been 2nd. I'm not sure Mo would have been top 3.

Greene had been hurt off and on all of the year 2000 and Johnson apparently was hurt in the semis of the 2000 Olympic trials. prompting him to go through emergency therapy between races and if not for the media hype, I doubt if either one of them would have ran the 200 final that day.

Also Johnson and Greene disliked each other and they both said so in public. Johnson always displayed public class when it came to his opponents and Greene who feeds off of his ego just rubbed the humble Johnson wrong......

[email protected]@!! MJ beat Donovan at 150m.....??
No way, Have we forgot Bailey ran a 9.84 and Jogged a 9.97 in His Semis..??? and also ran a 5.56 in the 50meters, so His start was there, Also Bailey wasn't a Drummond, or Mitchell--He Can on at the End, just as well as Lewis--I think an 8.9 Anchor says enough...Johnson couldn't dare ran a 9.1 Anchor never-the-less a 8.9, lol*
And MJ would've destroyed the competion in 2000--I mean he the QF he ran an easy 19.89--Remember***
MO had no chance against him in the 200m, But MO would've destroyed both at 150m---!!!!! All great, but in their own events!

                        dumb thread.

What if pigs could fly? How could the air traffic controllers keep a handle on things?

What if Ryun hadn't fallen down? What if Pre had tucked in and waited?

                          not really

if either had finished, there is a good chance they coud have made og history:

                          - mj, coud have been the only guy ever to retain the 200 title

                          - mo coud have been the 1st guy in 16y to do the 100/200 double

in addition, we wouda seen how KK woud actually have fared against some truly great 200 runners running near peak form ( i forgot mj ran a 19.89 in the heat - it's fairly obvious he wouda made the top 3 if his hamstring had held up - maybe even got into the 19.7's - it woud have been great to see KK have run against a 19.7 guy )

I think Capel STILL would have won. I think being behind caused the knee-jerk reaction that caused them both to become "injured"

                              yeah, Kenteris wasn't a doped-up fraud in 2000, I forgot.
