Can anyone tell me where I can purchase videos of past OG and WC track and field. I show them to my teams on the bus rides and they really enjoy them. My personal library is very limited and I'd like to acquire quite a bit more.

    Thanks for any help

      Re: Olympic and WC videos

I'll list a few titles, but I don't know if some are currently available:
"Tokyo Olympiad" (deinitely available)-- This covers many sports in the 1964 OG. There's great footage of Bob Hayes winning the 100m and anchoring the 4X100, a good look at the 10K (won by Billy Mills), and the marathon, and LJ. You'll catch only a glimpse of Peter Snell, though-- and I've never understood that, because his dominance of the other runners in the 800m and 1500m would have made an interesting story for the average person who doesn't follow T&F. Also no coverage of the 5K.
"The Supermilers"---Covers all the world record holders from Bannister through Coe and Ovett, with great race footage and interviews that were current at the time of production (circa 1984).
"The Olympiad; Greatest Moments", distributed by Dreamworks-- Great coverage of Olympic races from the early days, up to some from 1992, and includes footage of Nurmi, Zatopek, Kuts, Juantorena, and Herb Elliot, to name a few.

Thanks for the info. It seems like it was easier to get that info a few years back.

                Re: Olympic and WC videos

This has been a great post--- I had no idea that there were so many interesting tapes potentially available. One word of caution, though, because I noticed that some of the Australian tapes are available only in PAL format, and I think that can't be used on machines that are generally available in the US.
On the other hand, this site has been such a gold mine of information, that maybe someone reading my post will be able to supply a correction or a solution.

                  Re: Olympic and WC videos

There are many, many places in any large city that can convert your PAL tapes to VHS and vice versa. Just check the Yellow Pages or the 'net. It's no problem at all.
