I could be making this up, but I'm pretty sure Mac only threw the hammer a few times and once he broke 200 (still significant for an American in those days--after all, he did earn No. 10 in the U.S. Rankings in '77) he was happy.
Not sure of the numbers but Scott Russell of the University of Kansas was an NCAA Champ in both the weight throw and the javelin and was an NCAA qualifier (at least provisionally) in the shot put and hammer and possibly in the discus.
ok the best i could find was Mac Wilkins with his 21.06 (not quite 70ft), 70.98m, 63.86, and 78.44m
best European just to shut up Rob woudl probably be Soren Tallhem i suppose with 20.91m, 56.76m, 66.14m and 75.42m, Robert Fazekas has gone 70m in Discus and Hammer, but not sure what he has thrown in the shot put and Javelin
Let me guess - you live by yourself; have done all your life; take yourself (and your messageboard-posting) fairly seriously; have nothing better to do than to create a stir on a predominantly-American forum so that your insecure mind can get a bit of an ego boost every now and then.
Until there's an official IAAF-recognized Weight Pentathlon, nothing matters. It would be a great event. But it would never be popular because WRs in individual events are all anyone cares about. If some billionaire throws fan would put up the $$$$$, it could be a good event - maybe even on TV.
one thing worth pointing out about mac is that he's still ranked either no. 2 or 3. all-time for no. of 70+ throws in his career - wich is a remarkable achievement
i believe he's got nearly 10 in total ( i believe alekna & riedel have slightly more), but a guy like schult, the WR holder only has 2 or 3 !
