  • What's the T&F connection ?

OK this is a repeat of a trivia question that got buried in the Ron Artest thread under current events.

Baltimore Colts' linebacker from late 60's, early 70's was Mike Curtis of Duke. What's his T & F connection ? (Asked here by a former teammate)

you have the correct event... need a little bit more detail for full credit though.

ok, enough's enough, here it is:

Mike Curtis wandered onto the track one spring day of his sophomore year at Duke in 1963, after spring football practice ended, and picked up a javelin for the first time. About a month later he was Atlantic Coast Conference champion with a Duke SR of 213'2". Casually fooled around with it the next year, 1964, but never did better. That was it, as he signed a pro football contract before the 1965 track season. He then had a great career with the Colts at middle linebacker.

nah, just a little story from personal experience; Mike's name got mentioned on the Ron Artest thread.
