Re: Sisters that run?
OK stat guys, help me out, but Julie and Mary Shea. Both in top 10 all time HS for 3000 (Mary 9:13.56=3, Julie 9:15.4=6), Mary is 5th in 2M (10:03.5), 2nd in 5k (16:13.7) and 1 in 10k (32:52.5). In 1980, the two swept the Oly Trials 5k exhibition, Julie in 15:44.12, Mary in 16:07.50. In 1981, Julie finished 4th in the Boston Marathon, 2:30:54 behind Roe (2:26:46 course record), Catalano and Benoit. In 1983, Mary finished second in 2:33:23 behind Benoit's then course record of 2:22:43. Besides being named to numerous US XC and "Best Of" teams (best ACC comes to mind off hand), I think folks would be hard pressed to find a faster pair of sisters. I am sure the stat guys could research their all time placings! And remember... their times are 20-25 years old!

Always felt sorry for Angela in Seoul - she couldn't train before her heat and was forced to do pool striding. I think she had the potential to run in the 31:20 range, a great time back then.
Are the Dibabas sisters or cousins?
