  • Paul McCartney RIP

He looks pretty good for a guy who died in 1967, doesn't he?! Would have been 62 this year.

    Re: Paul McCartney RIP

Seems ironic that some of the songs Paul Mc sang pre-date the first super bowl and that he was more entertaining than the first half of the game itself. Of course there are huge turn arounds... 40 years ago any Beatles performance would have outdrawn the Super Bowl! And 40 years ago they wouldn't have had to fill the infield with hundreds of young shills to act excited or send up fireworks to indicate the really hot parts of McCartney's act. Still, the guy is pretty damn good at what he does after all these years.

      He is, but....

I think I speak for all of us when I say "Thank God there wasn't a "wardrobe malfunction"".

By the way Mr. Jacksonville, how has life been since the circus came to town?

Either every bad driver in the southeast USA has descended on the town, or we have all turned into road ragers. In any case, I've just inside a lot.

            >>40 years ago any Beatles performance would have outdrawn the Super Bowl!<<

The Beatles largest gig was 55,600 when they played Shea Stadium. Lowest Super Bowl attendance was the first Super Bowl--61,946.

That was sell-out capacity for a concert. They could have sold 250,000 tickets easily.

                  A. It wasn't idle speculation.

Two things-based on the internet prices of Super Bowl tickets, they could sell a lot more seats to that game. Also, nice thread title. I thought maybe it was true and that a Beatles reunion would become even less of a possibility.

That first super bowl in LA had 30,000 empty seats. No American Beatles concert had an empty seat, period.

Only in the Righteous Brothers' "Rock & Roll Heaven".

Yeah, pretty good, except for the fact that he sort of looks like an old woman these days.

I wonder if the censors will get excited about the California grass references last night?
