Rush just said (and I paraphrase): "Some have called Obama a leftist, or a socialist or even a Marxist. I'll tell you what he is: he's an authoritarian!"

He then went on to give examples of other authoritarians, like Nasser and Castro!

Absolutely. The Republicans' disrespect for linguistic meaning and plain old rationality would be comical if it wasn't so cynical and disgraceful. I'm not easy to shock at my age, but alot of this stuff truly shocks me.

in limey we never thought we'd ever be ready for a woman leader, but we got thatcher back in '79 !

the country got over the novelty after a year or 2

germany, western europe's pwerhouse has merkel, a woman as their leader

if that country given it's hisory can elect a woman, pretty much anyone can get elected in western world countries

the novelty value will wear off after a year or so & he'll be considered just as "the president" & not "the black president"

This is their chance to get a black president and they seem to care little that he is at minimum, socialist, and probably Marxist in his core beliefs. After all, he is black -- no experience or accomplishments -- but he is black."

As these folks diminish the Black support of the Republican party from 10% to 2% by driving out the decent folks like JC Watts and Colin Powell, the only people left will be the kooks like Jesse Lee Peterson. If Obama gets elected, a shrewd move would be to appoint the nation's first Hispanic to the Supreme Court and make Bill Richardson his Secretary of State. That would insure that the present-day Republican party would remain in the minority for at least another generation.

Yes, indeed. And I find the "keeps injecting" notion particularly curious.

Well, that's one explanation. By that measure, I "keep injecting hunger" into the world.
