Re: Peter Snell planning masters comeback in M65 group
thanks for the info nut!
there is so many ways to look at a 65 yr old x-super star. a 3 min half would be great in the big picture. if peter has even a small flame left of that burning competive fire and can train who knows what he can do. 3:00-2:15??????

Re: Peter Snell planning masters comeback in M65 group
M65 800 METER RUN
World Record: 2:14.33 Earl Fee (CAN) 07/18/95
American Record: 2:21.14 Sidney Howard (NJ) 08/07/04
top 5 USA this year:
2:24.61 SID HOWARD (492)
2:26.29 MACK STEWART (442)
2:31.08 LEE WALTON (265*)
2:32.15 HOWARD WEISSER (265*)
2:34.39 DAN MCCORMACK (442)
I would say 2:30 would be a big success.

Re: Peter Snell planning masters comeback in M65 group
I don't want to know.
I don't want to hear that "some" 65 yr old can run faster at 800m than I can for 400m (probably).

Re: Peter Snell planning masters comeback in M65 group
I thought he'd competed in a Masters event in an indoor meet in NYC about 10 or 15 years ago. If I recall, he won a mile in just under 5 minutes.
Nevertheless, it'd be great to see him competeing again!

Re: Peter Snell planning masters comeback in M65 group
Awesome news. I doubt he would compete if he would embarrass himself, so he should do well.
Probably going to be more spectators there than at the Commonwelath games trials in Christchurch.

Peter Snell planning masters comeback in M65 group
He's just some old New Zealand ex-pat. Apparently hasn't competed since 1965. He's planning to compete at a Kiwi meet in February.
