Hey you might have been screwing around, and that is fine. I laugh at it enough as it is. I couldn't do the thing without a sense of humor, but I also work hard at training myself and other very good athletes who just want a chance to make the Olympics, like everyone else in the sport of T&F. It makes no sense why people seem to go out of their way to belittle the event and its practitioners. Does it make them feel better about themselves? If so, that is truly sad and pathetic. The RW community as a whole just wants the opportunities that everyone else has to compete (which they are systematically denied by the USOC, USATF, NCAA & NFHS) and a bit of respect for their efforts & hardwork. If you don't enjoy the event, that is fine, but there is no reason to trash the event & its athletes at all.

Thanks, Michael. I have one. (Facetious threads are de rigueur at least once for each poster)
How many here have race walked?
I have.
I rest my case. I'll elaborate later when I've time.

(Little side note: My younger sister was a national 1,500m RW champion back in her heyday. My little "What is Race Walk?" was just to stir the pot and get people to think about this side of the sport as well... like Gabe Jennings saying he had never (heard of?) watched any other event outside of the 1,500m.)

I've had cataract surgery. Does this mean that my lifelong dream of being a race-walk judge is in the toilet?? I'm heading over to the GG Bridge . . .

The rules make no mention of it. It only mentions 'human eye'. Could one get off on a technicality?
