This sounds like someone who only equates intoxicated with Girls Gone Wild, Mardis Gras-type drinking. There's a huge difference between the frat boy or Hell's Angels fall-down drunk and the sitting with your friends, marinating, and enjoying good conversation/food/dancing kind of drunk. The latter, I can assure you, can be a very nice feeling

I get those same feelings without alcohol. I have nothing against other people doing whatever they want-it's just not for me.
But hey there is still time......

Wow- squackee I love you man!

I had oxygen administered to me at my university's infirmary before I was able to take my last final exam.

            Highly recommended!

An appropriate thread for a T&F forum... One primary source of hangovers is dehydration -- alchohol essentially tricks your kidney and bladder into prematurely emptying, and pulling excess water from your body (including your cells).

As it turns out, any body fluid replacement drink does wonders, above and beyond just plain water. Gatorade or Pedialyte are good candidates. The problem with taking pain killers (tylenol or ibuprofen) is that there are studies linking those to liver damage (whether it's worse damage than done by the alcohol is an open argument, but...).

Another excellent method of prevention is taking multivitamins (as I think some others have mentioned). Along with the fluid replacement, those will replace required minerals and compounds that have been lost in the "fluid discharge".

If you nurse a heavy night of drinking like you would a brutal workout, the results are quite surprising.... or so I'm told.

When I was 22 - Water, workout, sex.
                  32 - Codeine, cough, sex.
                  42 - Under duvet, self-piteous whimpering, TV.

The big 22oz cans?! That would definitely do it!

Update: Nope, I forgot about the menudo and went for the tacos and migas again. They made life bearable, but I think the power of my partying the night before was just too much to overcome. I'd like to lay the blame on T&FN staffer Bret Bloomquist, but I must admit I was already pretty well lit by the time he showed up. No one to blame but myself. I think I'll go to bed about 9pm alcohol-free next weekend.
