There's a restaurant here named Ruth's Chris Steak House (Ruth bought out Chris - kept both names), whose steaks and shoestring potatoes are to DIE for.

True story: we went to the Ruth's Chris Steak House in SF a few years back. At the next table an older couple with one of their kids is eating away. The guy is salting everything like it is going out of style. Halfway though his dinner (while we have not even had out salad served) he keels over face first into his steak and mashed potatoes. Paramedics are called in to work on the guy and wheel him out. The wife is explaining to the PMs about her husband’s heart condition. (I guess the salt was medicinal.)

The whole thing takes about 30 minutes to play out, while they continue to bring us food (at the VERY NEXT TABLE! – they couldn’t move us - a packed house). All very strange. Can’t say we really enjoyed that meal, although we certainly had a better time than the family at the next table. We tried Ruth’s again a year or so later in Vegas. No paramedics that night.
