  • Meanwhile.....in the FT....

Britain was warned last night to prepare for a long haul out of the Covid-19 crisis, as Boris Johnson revealed that 1m people in England now had the virus, representing one in 50 of the population.

Ministers admitted that the seven-week national lockdown in England, which came into force at midnight, could be extended into March.

The prospect of a hard road out of the crisis was reinforced by Chris Whitty, chief medical officer. He said restrictions would be lifted “by degrees” and warned that Covid-19 curbs could still be needed next winter.

So I go to Walmart and I see the Campbells "meat and potatoes" soup. .. I think to myself, what would a lonewolf do in this situation and I quickly grab 8 cans for to have as a diversion for lunch. I had to cover the bowl in the microwave because when I heat it up it seems that something, maybe the potatoes go "pop" .. I have to say, it was pretty good. The beef quality wasnt much but it was flavorful and it did fill me up until dinner !

I dont think that is necessary. Motor oil is not unstable in the least, unless you are adding a cup of salt water to your oil pan the shelf life of a motor oil is quite long. Only a motor oil distributor would recommend changing oil at 12 months. Vehicle crankcases are almost air tight to the outside. All the vehicle owner has to do is to check the level and top off. Changing oil before 3k miles is just a waste of time.

Its not at all clear that her race had anything to do with either the hospitals treatment of her or her death. She might have gottten better care elsewhere, she might not of. She might have gotten worse treatment if she were white, she might not of. The article is a Rorschach test onto which every reader can project their own biases and prejudices.

That oil has been in the ground for millions of years. Unless heavily used or polluted, six months or six years in an engine ain't gonna hurt.

you wake up in the morning and are excited that you get to drive to the doctor to have some stitches yanked. It'll be the high point of my week!

You look forward to your assigned pandemic duty to get up at 7am on Wednesdays to do the weekly shopping at the supermarket (when it's senior hours, sparsely populated, freshly sanitized, and restocked).

Been there, did that this morning, but I sure hope that's not going to be the high point of my week!

Boris Johnson last night won the backing of MPs to impose Covid-19 restrictions in England until the end of March, but said he hoped national lockdown could be eased from mid-February.

                              • My daughter registered me yesterday for covid vax. I received an email this morning that as an 89-year-old diabetic I was in Phase 2 and would receive an email of where and when to report to be shot.
