    • My dad got his first dose of the vaccine yesterday. Was surprised it was so soon (he is a retired doctor) but his current job involves going in the homes of medically fragile people so he was able to get it somehow. My mom is over 70, so the state has her in the next phase, hopefully within the next month.

My husband should get his soon. The state left young healthy law enforcement officers out of the plan, but the local EMS pointed out to the county health department that they often need law enforcement to clear the scene before they can even attend to patients, so it sounds like our very small Sheriff's Department will get theirs soon. That is the other argument in favor of vaccinating them, we have so few deputies per island, any one of them getting sick or needing to quarantine is significant, percentage-wise.

My in-laws and my sister-in-law should all get theirs relatively soon as well, but brother-in-law and I have nothing that would get it to us sooner, so my guess is we won't get a chance until late summer or fall. I don't think the kids will have it available until well into 2022.

Not sure I'll feel comfortable sending them back to school in the fall. Might be easiest to start mentally preparing to homeschool.

I'm surprised you haven't gotten your 1st shot already. My dad is a Vietnam War veteran who got his 1st shot a week ago at the VA hospital but he's
        10 years younger than you.

My mother, who is 7 months older, is still waiting.

My brother, a 46-year-old pediatrician, got his 2nd shot yesterday.

Recognizing all the people who SHOULD get the shot before me (like your brother), I'll set my wrinkled septagenarian butt down and wait my turn, whenever that might be.

          • I can't imagine that anyone would see anything wrong with giving the highest priority to a pediatrician who must come in close contact with the children he treats, a very essential job.

              • Not that old trope....

Be happy.... the 13th century was much worse...

And the introduction was pretty stupid...the government has pumped almost $4 trillion into the economy...

Some politicians have been dumb but quite a few, on both sides, have tried to get us through this....

I apologize for posting something positive for you to read, Conor Dary, and ruining your day. Some people see the glass as half full, some see it as half empty, you see every glass as empty - all the time. Very tiresome to hear your negative tirades about everything all the time.

First off that stupid introduction...the election was 2 months ago ...though not for some people...

And what you call positive I find trvializing 4000 deaths a day...with some lecture from some Irish dude going on it was a lot worse 100 years ago...

                        Your observations about me ...Lol..

                        • Imagine Boris Johnson posted a video in Britain saying....hey it was a lot worse 100 years ago!

I don't think it would go over very well....

Le sigh. I would hate to have your attitude. Conor Dary. I find most of your posts on this forum nauseating. You told me months ago you understand medicine "because I can read" and because you read a couple articles in the paper about the pandemic. You're not an MD, you've never looked at a patient and his family and told them they were probably gonna die from what they had, and then watched them deteriorate in front of your eyes. You have no clue and if you think I trivialize death, when you've never had to deal with it like an MD does, you really have no clue. I would never deign to tell you I knew something about your job or career because I read an article in the paper about it.

Whenever somebody posts something about you that you don't like, you use the LOL comeback which shows how sharp you are at retorts. I really think this forum would be a much better place without you.

Oh dear... I never said that....

And are we going to do the Hydroxychloroquine thing again?

Lol is my reaction...for this one too. Again this my attitude thing again....what can I say...the soothsayer who can read people on a message board.

Anyways you post a political video and I'm suppose to say ....what?

Next time I hear from someone who lost a friend or relative to Covid I'll just tell them it could be worse...

Yes, you did say that, Conor Dary. Go back and look at your 1000s of posts, if you can find it within your personal negative clipping service that you use this message board for.

Hey, you came back with LOL again - good one. Really good response.
