Headline - Why Opening Restaurants Is Exactly What the Coronavirus Wants Us to Do

Good read and, I would think, a bit scary for those who plan to go out for dinner (which I do not).Last edited by tandfman; 02-06-2021, 12:31 PM.

a. You could still carry it and spread to others.
b. You could be in the 5% that the vax is NOT effective for.

As Fauci has said several times, this will be endemic and we will learn to live with it. Its not like we have to get down to 0 cases and no deaths - although that would be ideal, but unlikely. We need to get it to the level of a seasonal flu, which we have lived with for decades and do not shut the world down for that.

Yes, but it's not down to that level yet.

I'm not gonna get out there and spread it. 1) there is only a 5% chance of getting the virus to begin with, 2) we will follow mask and social distance guidelines, 3) all the expert opinions I've seen have said that although this is not considered a sterilizing vaccine, they all feel that the risk of transmission from anybody who has been fully vaccinated will be much lower - no numbers on it but they all concurred on that in the study I saw.
