  • Aha! The fix is in. Trust Dr. Paul.

"Federal researchers will not objectively study ivermectin as a treatment for Covid-19, the Kentucky senator Rand Paul claimed, because “hatred for Donald Trump” has tainted their view of those who say the drug used to deworm horses can aid the fight against the pandemic.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that a meeting with constituents in Cold Spring, Kentucky, on Friday, Paul said: “The hatred for Trump deranged these people so much, they’re unwilling to objectively study it.

“So someone like me that’s in the middle on it, I can’t tell you because they will not study ivermectin. They will not study hydroxychloroquine without the taint of their hatred for Donald Trump.”

I am embarrassed to admit that Rand Paul was two classes after me at Duke Med School so we probably crossed paths a few times. I do not remember him, however. A few years ago, my wife and I did a spa weekend and he was also there with his wife, but I did not speak to him. I actually didn't know who he was at that time - someone told me later that night at dinner.

It seems that every school no matter how prestigious (eg. Harvard, Yale, West Point, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Penn, etc.) has at least one notorious alumnus who embarrasses it.

These doctors that were sneering at us like we’re scumbags, they need to go back to f*cking med school.”

Shouldn't this be in the Darein thread? By the way, there have been several prominent anti-vax activists and talk show hosts who have succumbed to COVID-19, and you have to at least give them credit for walking the walk, as opposed to the ones on cable news spouting anti-vax nonsense despite being vaccinated.

Yeah, but he won't have any more.

That's my county! Hope I never see her in a Doctor's office. Every Doctor's office I've been to follows strict protocol.

                        • It might go without saying, but I'm going to say it anyhow. Much like graduates of Duke may be ashamed of certain fellow graduates, or denizens of California, NYC, Texas, etc...may not claim all or parts of their leader's decisions, this woman in no way represents the majority of Christians. She represents herself...and she is a Christian...but the only way she might represent us all is in the sense that we're all sinners who think and do things we shouldn't because we're stupid fallen humans.

You there, on the motorbike! Sell me one of your melons!

One adult drank an injectable version of Ivermectin intended for use in cattle, thinking it would prevent a coronavirus infection and suffered from confusion, drowsiness, hallucination, tremors and rapid breathing. The patient was hospitalized for 9 days.

                            • Today we have "Threedom" in Aotearoa New Zealand for every one south of Auckland.

This means you can now buy a Big Mac, but only at the drive through.

And up to 10 people can attend a funeral

                              • I was at a meeting of the games committee tonight for our town’s 5K which is scheduled for 9/18. Last year, it was virtual but this year we're going forward with adjustments.

No water-stops but bottles of water at the end. We will start the race in waves to reduce the crowding. Adult runners must sign a waiver that they are vaccinated. We are expecting a smaller crowd than usual but think a lot of folks will be happy just to have a race again. The race raises about $20K for town & local charities.
