  • The man is so keen to get a vaccine pass he turns up with a plastic arm, but doctors aren't fooled.

An Italian man who wanted a Covid vaccination certificate without getting the jab turned up for his vaccine with a fake arm, officials say.

The man, in his 50s, arrived for his shot with a silicone mould covering his real arm, hoping it would go unnoticed.

But a nurse was not fooled and the man has now been reported to the police.

The nurse told local media that when she had rolled up his sleeve, she found the skin "rubbery and cold" and the pigment "too light".

    • My DIs were WWII, Korea (and one WWI) vets, and similarly aggressively disposed. You hated the sobs but they got results.
When I went on active duty as a 2nd Looie, fresh off the OAMC track team, I made the mistake of massively maxing the PT test. Being in the Ist Platoon of A company, I was summarily ordained the 16th Armored Engineer Battalion Athletic Officer (or whatever, this was not a standard organization slot) As such, I was required to conduct, participate and max PT tests for each of the 16 platoons plus HQ company. Maxing one PT test was a snap, maxing 17 got a little wearying.

I always remember my DI, Sgt. Campbell, telling us that if we were captured all we were to say was our name and serial number. Then he would add: "Of course if it was me and they messed with my family jewels, I would tell them EVERYTHING."

        • I got Pfizer-boosted yesterday. Throughout the rest of the day the only side effect was a sore shoulder, but this morning at about 4:30 I woke up with a feverish feeling all over my body. Took two Tylenol and it went away; shoulder is still sore though.

I didn't have any side effects for the first two jabs months ago (also Pfizer), except for a couple days of soreness in the injected shoulder.

I don't recall that instruction about being captured, but of course I do recall my serial number. Has anyone ever forgotten his/her number? I got mine more than 50 years ago. Can still spit it out on command.

              You're showing your age.
Serial numbers were discontinued in 1974, when SSNs replaced them.
              I was commissioned in 1973 and wasn't even issued a serial #.

Absolutely....and since I routinely take this info from couples when only one is present....most couples seem to be able to.

                            • Wife and I got our boosters yesterday. Other than the same soreness in our arms around the injection spot we had the first two shots, no other issues.
