One of my all-time fave quips - "The definition of an intellectual is someone who hears the William Tell Overture and doesn't think of the Lone Ranger". Apparently by the great Scottish comedian Billy Connolly.

If you hear the WTO and don't IMMEDIATELY think of the Lone Ranger, you have lived a sad, pathetic life.
Furthermore, your end-days will be dark, dismal times - you will have no friends, no one to remember you.
      It's just that simple!!

Equally pathetic is someone who hears the Lone Ranger theme and doesn't think of the WTO.

Some of us also recall the WTO being used for commercials in the 1960s: first for Lark cigarettes, and then in a parody for Jeno Pizza Rolls by the late great Stan Freberg:

And while you are on YouTube, Stan Freberg’s “Federal Budget Review” also hits home as both parties in Congress are trying right now to come up with a $2 Trillion Relief Package.

Maybe, but would Tonto agree with you?

But when you hear it, do you recognize the lead in to the finale of the WTO?

Love Glen Campbell. When I played golf the LA Open was the Glen Campbell LA Open. Glen used to sit in the locker room for hours and hold court with the players, telling us stories about Hollywood and the music industry, and who was sleeping with whom, who was an alcoholic or doing drugs, and all sorts of the skinny. I never really knew him personally but sat in on this a few times. He was great to all the players. Miss him.
