Yikes! Your statement is, at face value, true, but . . . it is human nature to defy and deflect tragedy with comedy. Otherwise life itself defeats us.

He's real, all right. As they say, 'you could look it up'. Whether the poster is he is another matter. If it's a bot, it's doing pretty well on the Turing Test.

That is what I meant....I assumed it was a real name....not necessarily a bot... a troll more likely....

On Twitter bots can be very convincing....you can tell they are a bot because their hashtag is usually a name followed by a 6 digit number....

Anyway I got the whole COVID thing figured out by now. All of us really have nothing to worry about for the following reason. There are only 3 things that can happen to us:

1) we don't get COVID-19 - which is great and of course, nothing to worry about
2) we get COVID-19 and recover from it - which is wonderful, because then you'll likely be immune (I know, I know, I've heard maybe not 100%) - so that's nothing to worry about
3) we get COVID-19 and we die - which means you'll have nothing to worry about then

So don't worry about it.

That's not true by a long shot...nothing to worry about? And so nonchalant about dying....dying alone and buried alone...lovely....

Are you following this at all? It doesn't appear to be....PVP wrote about a masters runner friend who recovered and still has trouble running....lots of healthy young are recovering and having long term health problems...

The day before I got sick, I ran three miles, walked 10 more, then raced up the stairs to my fifth-floor apartment as always, slinging laundry with me as I went.

I am one of the lucky ones. I never needed a ventilator. I survived. But 27 days later, I still have lingering pneumonia. I use two inhalers, twice a day. I can’t walk more than a few blocks without stopping.

Conor Dary doesn't seem to like my humor - which is fine. Each to his own. And I discussed the situation with the lingering problems after pneumonia from a medical point of view over in the Current Events section.

Most of these memes and jokes do not concern the illness itself but the circumstances brought about by it that we find ourselves in.

That's a very good point. bambam's post may have been tounge-in-check, but it dealt with the illness itself and in that respect, I appreciated it much less than the memes that have concerned the circumstances we're having to live with.

PS - I remain a big bambam fan.
