And this why the USA has covid-19 statistics that it has.

I'd keep politics out of this.....I was referring to a small group....that is not indicative of most people..no matter their politics.

The couple reportedly ignored the instructions and left the hotel. After returning to their hotel around midnight, they were again warned by hotel staff to not leave their room. After again breaking quarantine the next day, hotel staff called police, who arrested the couple.
Yeah, the couple should have known that a hotel HVAC circulating air through a honeycomb matrix of human cubicles is the best way to keep everyone safe from infecting each other with a respiratory virus. It is so much more safe than being outdoors and breathing fresh air.

Someone should lecture those two selfish bastards how great such lockdowns worked in NYC!

Even finding a covid-19 vaccine won’t be enough to end the pandemic

If coronavirus persists, the volume of vaccine available in coming years is expected to fall far short of global demand

Limited supplies could create coronavirus haves and have-nots around the globe once a vaccine is manufactured

In Sonoma County (Northern California), we've had 309 positives out of 9605 tests (for a 525,000 population). Contrarily to the quoted statement, more females (161) have tested positive than males (148). Want to believe we have stronger men up here, but my wife says that's because Sonoma women do all the work. It should be added that all 4 deaths in Sonoma County were over 65 males.

                      Perhaps I should re-word
This is why the majority of the rest of the world believe the USA has the covid-19 statistics that it has.

Yes, that's a good collection. And within that site, there's a link to this page, which has graphs showing which states are winning and which are not. https://www.endcoronavirus.org/states
Interesting graphs. And very scary to see that 38 states and territories have such a long way to go to get things under control.

                          Brazil’s Pandemic Is Just Beginning

The hardest-hit country in Latin America is facing a “perfect storm,” as inequality collides with COVID-19.

“Brazil is probably the next epicenter of the pandemic in the world,” Luciano Cesar Azevedo, a physician who has been spending his days and nights treating COVID-19 patients in intensive-care units in São Paulo, the country’s largest city, told me this week. “I think Brazil is going to get close to 100,000 deaths.” On the day we spoke, Azevedo noted that ICU beds in the city’s public health-care system were at 90 percent occupancy. He said Rio de Janeiro, whose health-care system is already seriously strained by the outbreak, could become Brazil’s New York.

Tom Inglesby of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health notes that the country reported 3,700 new daily cases on April 23. Less than two weeks later, on May 6, new daily cases had more than tripled, to 11,896. The developments in Brazil “are really concerning,” Inglesby told me.

I have uploaded a graph of the percentage of the populations tested of the respective countries. Given the way Brazil's current numbers are tracking, and with the very low amount of testing, Brazil could end up replacing the USA as having the most deaths and most cases.

                            • Where Americans are still staying at home the most

                              May 6, 2020

If you’re still at home, you’re not alone.

After a peak week of sheltering in place in early April, U.S. residents began to inch out of their homes, according to new cellphone data. But even as states begin to “open up,” more Americans appear to be staying put than sprinting out the door.
