Meanwhile, positives, hospitalizations, and deaths continue to plummet.

Florida's deaths per day have fluctuated between 155 and 180 since January. Not exactly plummeting.Hospitalizations per day have stayed the same for 20 days. We are still waiting for the dip.

    • Meanwhile....

      - About 1/3 of military troops who’ve been offered vaccine shots have declined.
      - When shots became available to Ohio nursing-home workers, 60% said no.
      - Among frontline workers in SoCal, the share was 40-50%.
      - N.B.A. stars are wary of doing public-services ads.

Hospitalizations are down about 40% since early January (roughly 7500 to roughly 4500). Deaths are down from the high mid Jan numbers (195) to latest 158. Rolling 7 day averages all. Cases down from a high of around 18,000 in early Jan to 6500 latest.

        • Done by April?

We’ll Have Herd Immunity by April

Covid cases have dropped 77% in six weeks. Experts should level with the public about the good news.

          • We'll see....the guy had made wild claims before....

Doctor claims US could reach herd immunity if 20 per cent of population get Covid vaccine

‘The reality is that about 25 to 50 per cent of Americans have already had the infection,’ Dr Marty Makary claims

No, we won't. A deeply flawed oped https://wsj.com/articles/well-have-herd-immunity-by-april-11613669731?mod=e2two —55% of Americans do not have natural immunity —2/3 of the US population has not had covid —Wrong on T-cell protection —Very high Brazil infection rate was not protective —150M will not be vaccinated by March end

Turns a blind eye to variants, particularly B.1.1.7, which has accounted for peak pandemic surges, hospitalization, and deaths in Israel, UK, Ireland and Portugal, and now seeded throughout the US

Just wondering if WSJ has any fact checkers

224 deaths today. 225 3 days ago.About 169 average last 10 days. About 15 a day less than previous 10 days. Not a great shift. Hospitalizations last 20 days where they were in December, until the Xmas spike. Until deaths average under 50 a day we're too high.

AstraZeneca and Oxford University's COVID-19 vaccine is more effective when its second dose is given three months after the first, instead of six weeks, a peer-reviewed study published in The Lancet medical journal showed on Friday.

I'd rather have a shift not a trend.
