New Zealands hard and fast lockdown appears to be working.
3 weeks ago we had our first community covid case (delta variant) for many months. Daily cases rose to a highest level of 83 about a week ago. This past week cases steadily dropped to today's 20 cases.
Sadly we had our first death in 7 months. A 90 year old woman with commorbidities.
In the meantime NZ is reeling from a terrorist attack when 6 people were stabbed in a supermarket. 3 in critical condition.
The terrorist was shot dead by undercover police.

This one is even more looney bin inspiring:
Four of five commissioners support sending a letter to Gov. Ron DeSantis promoting treatments that are unapproved and doctors say could be dangerous.
The website for hydroxychloroquine, a prescription medication used to treat Lupus, says “there is no evidence that taking (the drug) is effective in preventing a person from contracting the coronavirus or developing COVID-19.”
The website for PEPCID says, similarly, “PEPCID is not indicated for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19."

As of yesterday 30% of eligible population have had 2 Pfizer doses. 58% have at least 1 dose.
We are on track to be fully vaccinated by year end, except for the anti vax nutjobs.
