  • From the NYT.

"the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has so far identified 2,900 people who were vaccinated among the 100,000 who died of Covid since mid-June."

Those who died had a 97.1% chance of being un-vaccinated. So many unnecessary deaths!

I think I have been seeing 7 day daily average US deaths dropping, but still up around 1,500- 1,800.

            • NY and NJ often give 7-day averages that they compute and I use. For the Global and The USA, I just divide the change in their numbers by seven.

However, sometimes they make adjustments in their numbers that may distort the 7-day averages. But the numbers they give are the numbers they give.

The USA averages seemed low to me too.

While many people are getting ever more concerned, the great majority of the population support the way the Government has handled the pandemic.

Auckland has been in a high level lockdown for nearly 2 months and is struggling to contain the current Delta outbreak from exploding. We have averaged just over 20 daily community cases the past week or so.

The Government goal is to reach a 90% vaccination level so we can stsrt opening up to thecrest of the world. But also by keeping our infection rstes low. Our death rate is 5 per million.

Currently over 80% have been vaccinated - 51% fully caccinated.

Yeah I have 2000 ave for month, and last 3 weeks: 16k, 19k,21k. Cases dropping but deaths yet to wane. Usual 2-4 week waiting period.
