Auckland has been in a high level lockdown for nearly 2 months and is struggling to contain the current Delta outbreak from exploding. We have averaged just over 20 daily community cases the past week or so.
The Government goal is to reach a 90% vaccination level so we can stsrt opening up to thecrest of the world. But also by keeping our infection rstes low. Our death rate is 5 per million.
Currently over 80% have been vaccinated - 51% fully caccinated.

NY and NJ often give 7-day averages that they compute and I use. For the Global and The USA, I just divide the change in their numbers by seven.
However, sometimes they make adjustments in their numbers that may distort the 7-day averages. But the numbers they give are the numbers they give.
The USA averages seemed low to me too.
